Novamont participates at CIS 2019 - Chemistry meets Industry and Society

From August 28th to 30th, in Salerno, the International CIS Conference 2019 - Chemistry meets Industry and Society – brought  together scientists, researchers, companies and public agencies to share experiences and results and bridge the gap between the research world and industry.

The aim of CIS 2019 was to open a new perspective in the interaction between research, industry and society in the field of chemistry and to demonstrate the strategic role of chemistry to drive progress and innovation, with particular attention to Energy, Health, Sustainability and Safety in everyday life.

On 28th  August, Tiziana Milizia, Novamont Bioplastic Area R&D Manager, took part in the workshop "Chemistry meets the bioeconomy", where she illustrated the model of Novamont's territorial regeneration, based on the re-industrialization of abandoned sites, on an integrated agricultural value chain and on products conceived as solutions. She also presented Mater-Biopolymer, the Novamont group company dedicated to the production of biodegradable biopolyesters called Origo-Bi.

The conference were organized by Società Chimica Italiana (SCI) in collaboration with European Chemical Society (EuChemS), Federchimica (the Italian Federation of the chemical industry), Farmindustria (Italian Association of pharmaceutical companies) and the support of Italian Interuniversity Consortium of Materials Science and Technology (INSTM) and Italian Association of Science & Technology of Macromolecules (AIM).
