European project Pulpacktion hosted at Novamont’s Headquarters and Research Centre

On 17th and 18th of October the Consortium of Pulpacktion, project funded by the Bio Based Industries Join Undertaking as part of the Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, held his meeting at Novamont’s Headquarters and Research Center.
 
The delegation visited Novamont’s research and development laboratories, and was afterwards toured in the historic center of Novara, thanks to the collaboration of the Local Tourist Agency – ATL.
 
The Pulpacktion project aim is to launch cellulose and biopolymers based products for food packaging  and for  electronics, which are biodegradable, 100% of renewable origin, 10% lighter and with a reduction of 50% of the CO2 emissions of the equivalents of fossil origin. Novamont, leader in the production of bioplastics and biochemicals,  is one of the project partners, and among various activities, deals with the formulations development, application design and evaluation of product sustainability.
 
The others partners are: Rottneros Packaging AB (Sweden), Borregaard AS (Norway), Genencor International BV (Holland), Rottneros AB (Sweden), Purac Biochem BV (Holland), Tecnaro GmbH (Denmark) , MI-PLAST DOO (Croatia), Innovacio i Recerca Industrial i Sostenible SL (Spain), Chimigraf Iberica SL (Spain), Instituto Tecnológico del Embalaje, Transporte y Logística (Spain) and Innventia (Sweden).
