THE UNIVERSITY OF PALERMO CONFERS A DEGREE IN "MATERIALS ENGINEERING" HONORIS CAUSA ON CATIA BASTIOLI

On November 14th Catia Bastioli, CEO of NOVAMONT, received from the University of Palermo an Honorary Bachelor's Degree in "Materials Engineering". for having been able to combine the power of culture and education with the technology application and having been  able to foresee new opportunities for emerging market thanks to the consolidation of new knowledge on the frontier of science and materials’technology.
 
Conferring the honorary degree, Professor Francesco Paolo La Mantia, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, stated: "Describing to young people Catia Bastioli’s  professional experience and history as innovator and entrepreneur means presenting a model to imitate for their professional future. It means telling the story of a person who has been able to invent the future in her field of activity by seeking effective connections all along the chain of knowledge. Catia Bastioli is a witness of what the country needs for the rebirth of its manufacturing sector"
 
This is the second recognition that Catia Bastioli receives from the academic world. In 2008 the University of Genoa has conferred an honorary degree in Industrial Chemistry, for her contribution to create an environmentally-friendly and eco-sustainable industrial culture.
 
Catia Bastioli during the ceremony held a Lectio Magistralis entitled "Innovation and bioeconomy infrastructure to reconnect the economy and society."
