Novamont among the speakers of the “International seminar on biotechnology applied to the plastic sector” organized by AIMPLAS
On March 1-2 the International Seminar on Biotechnology applied to the plastic sector, organized by AIMPLAS, Technological Institute of Plastics in Spain, was held online.
The event was an important opportunity to explore the role of biotechnology and its potential in the sector. In particular, the initiative addressed challenges and trends as well as the main developments in research, innovation and global solutions for the entire value chain, with a specific focus on the implementation of a circular economy approach.
Sebastia Gestì, New Materials and Technologies Laboratory Manager Novamont, was among the speakers and discussed the integration of chemical processes with industrial biotechnology within the Group. In particular he illustrated Novamont bioeconomy model, presenting some innovation projects in the field of biotechnology in which the Group is involved as well as the activities carried out in Novamont R&D Center in Piana di Monte Verna and in Novamont plant in Bottrighe.
