Novamont at the World BioEconomy Roundtable: “Biorevolution knocking on the door”

On February 15th the World BioEconomy Roundtable entitled “Biorevolution knocking on the door” was held online. The event was organized by the World BioEconomy Forum, a global platform for circular bioeconomy stakeholders, to share ideas on topics related to the most application areas for biotechnology, the requirements in terms of legislation and education, the role of standards and classification.
 
Among the speakers also Giulia Gregori, Head of Strategic Planning and Corporate Communication at Novamont, who talked about the connection between biotechnology and bioeconomy, being the former one of the engines by which the innovative products of the bioeconomy are brought to commercial scale. By harnessing the power of microbes and enzymes for industrial and manufacturing applications, biotechnology enables a more competitive, sustainable and circular bioeconomy, delivering solutions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
 
At the roundtable participated also Ludo Diels as a moderator, who introduced the topic and the other speakers: Thiago Falda, Executive President, Brazilian Bioinnovation Association – ABBI; Andrew Kiggundu, National Agricultural Research Organization; Jibin Sun, Professor, Deputy Director-General, Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Genét Garamendi, Head of Strategic Relationships, Checkerspot.
